When Lou Reed recorded this I’m sure there was no way that anyone would foresee a tribe called quest using the sample as a hip-hop staple for hanging out. What’s so crazy is that girls misunderstand “kickin’ it” with just trying to smash to this day. Guess both will forever be misunderstood.
